Dream Keepers Foundation, Inc. Dream 13 Leadership Excellence Scholarship Background
The Scholarship Application is due by April 15, 2027
The Dream 13 Leadership Excellence Scholarship was established by the Dream Keepers Foundation, Inc. to recognize outstanding young man who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the principles of the Guide Right Program and the Dream 13 Kappa League.
The scholarship honors students who have embraced mentorship, academic achievement, leadership, community service, and personal development while preparing themselves for success beyond high school.
The Dream 13 program is built upon the national Guide Right initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., whose mission is to help young men discover their purpose, develop leadership skills, and become productive citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to their families, schools, and communities.
This scholarship celebrates those young men who have fully embraced that mission.
Rather than recognizing grades alone, the Dream 13 Leadership Excellence Scholarship rewards the complete student—one who demonstrates character, integrity, perseverance, accountability, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
Recipients are expected to exemplify the Seven Phases of Kappa League:
Self-Identity & Purpose
Training
Competition
Social Development
Health Education
Economic Empowerment & Financial Education
College & Career Readiness
The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Dream 13 participant who has distinguished himself through leadership, academic commitment, service to others, and active participation in Dream 13 programming.
Required Application Materials
Applicants must submit:
Completed scholarship application.S
Official high school transcript.
One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, coach, or mentor.
One letter of recommendation from a community, civic, or faith-based leader.
Resume highlighting leadership, extracurricular activities, employment, volunteer service, and awards.
Proof of acceptance or enrollment in a post-secondary program.
