Building the Leaders of Tomorrow: Dover Alumni Chapter Launches the 2026–2027 "Dream 13" Kappa League

Great leadership isn't born overnight—it is built through dedicated mentorship, clear guidance, and strong community support. The Dover Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is opening applications for the 2026–2027 cohort of our flagship Guide Right mentoring program: The "Dream 13" Kappa League.

Designed specifically for rising high school freshmen in Delaware, the Kappa League equips young men with the tools, confidence, and vision needed to navigate high school, excel in higher education, and thrive in their future careers.

What Is the "Dream 13" Kappa League?

The national Kappa League initiative focuses on total youth development. Our local program provides structured, hands-on experiences across four core pillars:

  • Academic Achievement & College Readiness: College visits, SAT/ACT prep orientation, and study strategy workshops.
  • Character & Leadership Development: Training in personal accountability, public speaking, and professional etiquette.
  • Career Motivation: Access to professional networks, resume building, and exposure to diverse career tracks.
  • Community Service & Civic Engagement: Local volunteer initiatives designed to foster civic responsibility.

Program Induction Criteria

To ensure candidates are aligned with the expectations of the cohort, applicants must meet the following eligibility standards:

Requirement Details Residency Must reside within the Kent County, DE service area. Academic Level Entering 9th grade (Class of 2030) for the 2026–2027 academic year. GPA Standard Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).Documentation Copy of standard academic transcript (official or unofficial). Personal Essay One-page typed essay answering: "What does leadership mean to you, and how do you demonstrate it in your school or local community?"

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and total space within the "Dream 13" cohort is strictly limited to ensure individualized attention for every participant.

  3. Complete the digital form, upload your transcript, and attach your essay.

The holidays are a time when food insecurity is often overlooked. On December 18, 2021, the Dream Keepers Foundation partnered with M&J S.W.A.T. Community Service Organization; Food Bank of Delaware, Kingdom Empowerment Church, Mountaire Farms, and the Dover (DE) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to distribute dinner boxes filled items to ensure more than (90) deserving families would be able to gather over a meal.
