 Dream Keepers Foundation Scholarship Award

Scholarship Purpose:


The Dream Keepers Foundation Scholarship Award recognizes graduating high school seniors from Kent County, Delaware, who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to continuing their education.


The Foundation believes that investing in promising young leaders strengthens families, schools, and communities. This scholarship is designed to assist students as they pursue higher education while encouraging a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and personal excellence.


Eligibility Requirements:


Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:


Be a graduating high school senior entering their freshman year at an accredited college, university, community college, trade school, technical school, apprenticeship program, or military educational program during the 2027–2028 academic year.

Reside in Kent County, Delaware, or attend a public, private, or charter high school located within Kent County.

Maintain a minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Demonstrate leadership through school activities, employment, athletics, faith-based organizations, volunteer service, or community involvement.

Demonstrate good character, integrity, and a commitment to serving others.


Required Application Materials


Applicants must submit a complete application package that includes:


A completed Dream Keepers Foundation Scholarship Application.

An official high school transcript.

A one-page, typed, double-spaced personal statement addressing:

Educational and career goals.

Leadership experiences.

Community service and volunteer involvement.

Challenges or obstacles overcome.

How this scholarship will help achieve future educational and career goals.

A minimum of one (1) letter of recommendation from a:

Teacher

School counselor

Employer

Coach

Pastor

Mentor

Community leader


Recommendation Guidelines


Recommendations from relatives or immediate family members will not be accepted.

Applicants may submit no more than two (2) letters of recommendation.

Proof of acceptance or enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution before scholarship funds are released.



Selected finalists will be notified no later than April 15, 2027.
